When a top guy gets injured, you have to call an audible, and on this episode of WWE SmackDown from July 20, 2007, WWE had a big decision to make. The current World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, has gone down with an injury, and we are only 2 days away from the Great American Bash 2007 PPV. What do they do?! Well, the only thing they can do; have a 20 man over the top rope BATTLE ROYAL to decide the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Of course, all the stars are here in this match, like Jimmy Wang Yang, The Major Brothers, Deuce & Domino, and Eugene. There’s also some undercard guys like Batista, MVP, Kane, & Finlay. But, the biggest & best of them all, and the man that walks away with the championship, is The Great Khali!
Even though this is a major part of the show, there are some other things to look forward to! Kane & Batista are in this battle royal, but that’s not the only thing they do tonight, as they have a main event 1 on 1 match against each other to find out who will face The Great Khali at The Great American Bash for the World Championship. Victoria faces off against Torrie Wilson in a rivalry that’s been brewing on SmackDown for a few weeks, and Matt Hardy takes on Kenny Dykstra.
We’re also given a look at some new talent, or re-debuting talent, coming to smackdown, like Chuck Palumbo & his motorcycles, as well as Jesse & Festus!
