With the rise of the internet, WWF wanted to see if having a live SmackDown would help ratings so in 2001 we had the very first LIVE WWF SmackDown. This episode of SmackDown featured a lot of things: it’s live on UPN, the debut of the SmackDown fist stage, the very first Stone Cold Invitational, and the very first Lights Out match in the main event as Booker T faces The Rock before SummerSlam. Sammy Guevara faced Miro on AEW Dynamite for the TNT Championship & actually won the title! Rhodes To The Top, a new Cody Rhodes reality show, debuted on TNT after Dynamite and the boys review Rhodes To The Top Season 1 Episode 1. The VICE Dark Side of the Ring covered Atsushi Onita & FMW. To cap the week off, Orange Cassidy & Jack Evans faced in a hair vs hair match on AEW Rampage.
